Research Contracts

Research contracts are used to define the terms of medium to large research projects. Once a company's engineers have worked out the specifics of a project with researchers at the university, the Clemson University Research Foundation can help expedite the process of writing and negotiating a contract. Clemson has a great deal of experience working with companies and is generally responsive to special needs relative to intellectual property rights, non-disclosure agreements, etc.

The contract template linked below provides an example of what a research contract may look like. A contract similar to the one shown in the template is generally attached to a description of the project including a budget and list of deliverables. This template is just an example. Most of the terms in the template can be negotiated in order to meet the specific needs of a particular project or company.
