Course Overview:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n CE 8930 Section 004 and CPSC 8810 Section 001<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Course Description<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n This course studies data-enabled engineering methods for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). Topics covered in the class include data analytics fundamentals, data infrastructure development, security and privacy, visualization techniques, advanced data structures, and tools, including big data tools and case studies. Students will complete a significant project using the concepts and methods covered in the course. We will use some material from recent publications from professional computer science literature in this course. A portion of the course involves working with online resources, including the Palmetto Supercomputer and commercial cloud resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Prerequisites<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n Students interested in this course will need to be proficient in at least one high level programming language. Programming examples will be in C, Python, R, and Java, and students should be able to read these computer languages. The course will be taught by an interdisciplinary team in computer science and ITS.
