Research Interests:
Dr. Peng's research is focused on materials fabrication, processing and properties plus their applications in smart sensors. His current research is to develop smart miniature biosensors to monitor tissue and device function in vivo for hip joint replacement. The goal is to systematically establish the customizable and quantifiable surgery protocols to prevent or minimize osteolysis progression, based on the highly sensitive, embedded strain sensors, patient-specific biomechanical modeling, and cadaver/animal validation.
