Welcome to Clemson University Battery Challenge Team

Clemson University was selected to participate in the Battery Workforce Challenge, a three-year program generously sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy in collaboration with Stellantis, a leading automotive manufacturing corporation. This opportunity allows Clemson students to explore the world of vehicle electrification, a critical industry set to redefine the way we view transportation.

Clemson students will have the opportunity to learn about electric vehicle batteries on an unprecedented level through hands-on research and in-person workshops. The Clemson team is hosted at the Clemson International Center for Automotive Research (CU-ICAR) campus, where participants will have access to its state-of-the-art facility.

Clemson University is honored to have a role in the Battery Workforce Challenge. With the Department of Energy and Stellantis, Clemson will play a significant role in fostering the next generation of electrical and automotive engineers.

A Creative Inquiry Course ECE2990/3990/4990 Electric Vehicle Battery Pack Design has been offered from Fall 2023 for students interested in participating in this competition while earning 3 credits each semester. Details can be found from the syllabus or instructor.
