The Clemson University Vehicular Electronics Laboratory

The NSF Industry/University Center for Electromagnetic Compatibility

Most companies that join the center have a specific EMC problem or project in mind. Companies are encouraged to contact Prof. Todd Hubing to discuss possible projects and schedules. Prof. Hubing can work with you to develop a project plan that ensures your company will receive a significant return on its investment in a center membership.

Full Membership

Full membership in the center includes full voting privledges and intellectual property rights. In addition, full members generally work with researchers at Clemson to define and direct one project. That project typically involves:

  • Investigation of an EMC problem of particular relevance to that company's products

  • Design help with a product that must meet all EMC requirements on the first test pass

  • EMC education for a company's product engineers

  • Development of computer models for analyzing EMC sources or coupling paths

Associate Membership

Associate members have full access to center reports and communications. They participate in center meetings and have voting rights on issues related to center administration.

To join the NSF I/UCRC for Electromagnetic Compatibility, sign two copies of the attached Full Membership Agreement or Associate Membership Agreement and send them to:

Office of Industrial Contracts
JoAnna Floyd
Clemson University
300 Brackett Hall
Clemson, SC 29634-5702 USA

Ms. Floyd will obtain the necessary university signatures and return one fully executed copy to you. Your company will be invoiced for the first year of membership. Your company will be invited to attend the next center meeting (meetings are held every May and November) and you will be given access to the center members web site. The web site is where all quarterly research reports and general communications with the member companies are posted.
