Integrated Circuit EMC Design Questions

2. How is noise coupled on or off an IC?

There are four possible mechanisms for coupling of electromagnetic noise to or from an integrated circuit. Like crosstalk within a device, externally-coupled noise can be conveyed via a conducted path, an electric field or a magnetic field. Additionally, it is possible to radiate energy directly from the chip or package, however this is rarely if ever a significant source of EMI.
