Flat Ribbon Cable vs Round Cable

Modeling the Powerbus and Cable with CST

A flat PEC ribbon instead of round cable is used to model the cable. The width of the cable is 8 mm (4 times the radius of the cable). Fig.1 - 3 present the calculated far field radiation from the two cable models. It shows that the flat ribbon approximation produced similar results with the round cable model. In addition, this approximation decreased the simulation time from 14 hrs to 10 hrs.
