Flat ribbon cable vs cylindrical cable

Modeling a Powerbus and Cable with HFSS

A flat ribbon was used to approximate the round wire cable. The width of the ribbon was 4 times the radius of the round wire. Figures 1- 4 present the calculated far field radiation from the two cable models. It was observed that the flat ribbon approximation produced similar results.
