June – July 2019<\/span><\/h4>\n

The He lab hosted summer internships on \u201csustainable energy materials\u201d for two high-school students, Nolan Hamel and Jonathan Norris, from South Carolina Governor\u2019s School for Science and Mathematics, in collaboration with the SPRI<\/a> (Summer Program for Research Interns) program.<\/p>\n

July – August 2019<\/span><\/h4>\n

The He lab hosted an incoming freshman, Will Franklin, to participate in research projects of rechargeable batteries, under the EUREKA!<\/a> (Experiences in Undergraduate Research, Exploration and Knowledge Advancement) Program.<\/p>\n

June – July 2020<\/span><\/h4>\n

The He lab hosted virtual summer internships during the COVID-19 pandemic for two high-school students, Jos\u00e9 Mont\u00e9s and Grant Mondeel, from South Carolina Governor\u2019s School for Science and Mathematics, in collaboration with the SPRI<\/a> program. The team leveraged state-of-the-art software packages to remotely work on a project of \u201ccrystal growth and model-based simulation\u201d.<\/p>\n

July 2021<\/span><\/h4>\n

Dr. He organized a special science class of “Foldscope” for the K-8 Clemson Summer Camp students in the local Pickens County School Community.\u00a0 Dr. He and his team guided the elementary school students to make portable microscopes by paper folding and use them to look at tiny things in real-world lives.<\/p>\n
