A team of Clemson University researchers and an Upstate businessman believe they can help make football a little safer by creating a facemask that can help reduce the severity of head injuries by increasing overall helmet protection.

Clemson scientists awarded $1.57 million grant to study infections on medical implants

Clemson scientist Jeffrey Anker and four colleagues have been awarded a five-year, $1.57 million grant from the National Institutes of Health to develop a novel imaging technique and dye-based sensor to detect and monitor bacterial infections on implanted medical devices.

W.C. Tennis Group Welcomes USTA to Campus

The Wheelchair Tennis Group in the DesJardins Laboratory plans to welcome the United States Tennis Association (USTA) to Clemson's campus. Along with the athletics department and College of PRTM, the W.C. Tennis Group will lead a weekend of data collection.

New Lab Equipment: Delsys Wireless EMG System

Our lab is excited for the addition of the wireless, Delsys electromyography (EMG) system! With 16 new sensors, we have the capabilities to track full body muscle activity. We are planning to utilize its capabilities to track muscle activation in stroke rehabilitation, while horseback riding, in adaptive sports, and other upcoming lab projects.

DesJardins Lab Receives Funding From Milliken Healthcare for Sports Tape Research

Current research, funded by Milliken Healthcare, is underway to evaluate the integrity of prophylactic athletic taping systems for prevention of ankle injuries. This is the second collaboration between the lab and Milliken Healthcare.
