Weiming came to Clemson University in the fall of 2016 from Central Southern University in China, where he received a Bachelor degree in Engineering. His Bachelor’s research focused on using struvite crystal to absorb copper ions in industrial wastewater. His Master’s research at Clemson works on the use of ceramic membrane for the treatment of the high-strength wastewater from rendering plant. He creates a system with program on Labview for the control and supervision, and different components (like solenoid valves, actuator valves, pumps, etc.) serving as final executors.
Weiming is interested in learning and studying different strategies (like backwash frequency, backwash strength, chemical cleaning frequency, etc) of membrane operation for the reduction of the operating and maintenance costs. He is a good Labview programmer and looking forward to working in membrane technology area in the near future.
