You will gain:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hands on experience<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leadership opportunities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Senior Design Support<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Confidence<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop Job References<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What we look for in a supervisor:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Emphasis on safety<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A great attitude<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Listening and learning skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Communication skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Want to become a supervisor? Here are the steps:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Let the general manager (<a href=\"mailto:gadamso@g.clemson.edu\" data-type=\"mailto\" data-id=\"mailto:gadamso@g.clemson.edu\">jsgerso@clemson.edu<\/a>) know of your interest in becoming a supervisor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete all of your certs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any student will all cert complete may begin their internship. This details 10 hours of shadowing in order to complete all intern requirements.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Upon completion of your certifications, a final exam will be conducted by the general manager.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If necessary, interns that pass the final exam will take part in an interview with the general manager and the tooling manager. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once candidates are selected, they will meet with the lab coordinator, Dr. Byrd for the final approval.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If your application is approved, congratulations! You will start working as a shop supervisor in conjunction with a current supervisor for the rest of the semester.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Please plan accordingly to how long the entire internship process takes:<\/strong><br><br><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Certifications<\/span><br>Shop Pass: ~30 minutes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Green Cert: ~1 Hour<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Blue Cert: ~2-3 Hours<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Purple Cert: ~1-2 Hours<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Orange Cert: ~2 Hours<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><br><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Shadowing<\/span><br>10 hours<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Internship Program Benefits: Becoming an intern with the MESS is an opportunity like no other.
