{"id":47,"date":"2015-08-14T08:32:45","date_gmt":"2015-08-14T12:32:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cecas.clemson.edu\/pre2016\/?page_id=47"},"modified":"2015-10-05T13:16:57","modified_gmt":"2015-10-05T17:16:57","slug":"visa-information","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/cecas.clemson.edu\/pre2016\/visa-information\/","title":{"rendered":"Visa Information"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A foreign national or alien entering the U.S. is generally required to present a passport and valid visa issued by a U.S. Consular Official, unless they are a citizen of a country eligible for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dhs.gov\/visa-waiver-program-requirements\">Visa Waiver Program (VWP)<\/a>, or are a lawful permanent resident of the U.S. or a citizen of Canada.<\/p>\n<p>The Visa Waiver Program allows foreign nationals from certain countries to be admitted to the U.S. under limited conditions and for a limited time without obtaining a visa. The foreign national must arrive on an approved carrier (if coming by air or sea), staying no more than 90 days, for pleasure\/medical purposes\/business, and be able to prove they are not inadmissible. <strong>The foreign national is still required to have a passport.<\/strong> To obtain a list of countries eligible for the Visa Waiver Program, please reference the <a href=\"http:\/\/travel.state.gov\/content\/travel\/english.html\">Department of State Web site<\/a>.
