<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Jean\u00a0Waters, Project Manager at Pacific Northwest Pollution Prevention Resource Center (PPRC), has decades of experience assisting businesses in pollution prevention, sustainability, energy efficiency, and eliminating waste at its source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jean served as Deputy State Director for the Nebraska Business Development Center (NBDC) working with NBDC consultants in the small business development centers, the Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTAC), the Pollution Prevention Regional Information Center (P2RIC), the Technology Commercialization Program, and the Export Program. She also managed the Pollution Prevention Resource Exchange (P2Rx) national network when she won the NPPR MVP2 P2 Champion award. Jean has also been Director of the Pollution Prevention Institute at Kansas State University. She has an MS in Chemical Engineering and a BS in Food Engineering Technology from Kansas State University.<\/p>\n\n\n\nGary Liss, President at Gary Liss & Associates, has many decades of experience in the solid waste and recycling field. He is a leading advocate of Zero Waste helping major businesses, colleges, and many communities develop Zero Waste Plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gary was the first President of the US Zero Waste Business Council and now is a GBCI TRUE Zero Waste assessor and instructor. He is Vice President of Zero Waste USA and Zero Waste Certifications Committee Chair and a Board member of the Zero Waste International Alliance. Gary is a Certified ZERI System Designer, a SWANA certified Zero Waste Practitioner, and a founder and past President of the National Recycling Coalition. He has a Master in Public Administration degree from Rutgers University and Bachelor in Civil Engineering (Environmental Engineering major) from Tufts University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Alice Chapman, Engineer at King County, began her career by applying her chemical engineering degree to multi-media environmental compliance responsibilities at a large naval shipyard. She then moved to the Hazardous Waste Program at King County in Washington state where she has served a variety of roles finding safer products and hazardous waste management solutions for our residents and small businesses. Alice has seen some of the worst chemicals restricted from common products and the growth of product stewardship programs. She has particular expertise with safer degreasers, EPA-certified Safer Choice products, and using data to guide a field team serving small businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Westley McKane is a Toxics Reduction Engineer with the Washington State Department of Ecology’s Hazardous Waste & Toxics Reduction Program.\u00a0 He works with businesses from many sectors including aerospace, metal finishing, food and beverage production, and plastics and composites manufacturing. Westley has provided pollution prevention and toxics reduction assistance to businesses in Washington since 2022. Current projects he’s working on include working with businesses in the food and beverage sector to reduce water and toxic chemical use in clean-in-place systems and improving energy efficiency and reducing\u00a0 utility costs at businesses through compressed air leak audits. Westley has Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and in Biochemistry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and he has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alabama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
