This exchange program is a unique opportunity to partner with students at the University of Agder (UiA) in Norway to develop STEM education projects. This is a year-long project with a spring semester study abroad experience in Norway. In the Fall, Clemson students will work in partnership with visiting students from UiA on the development of a STEM education project. As part of this you will enroll in a creative inquiry course through the Engineering and Science Education Department. In the Spring semester you will study abroad in Norway, working in partnership with the same UiA students to further develop your STEM education project.

A central goal of this project is to develop new and innovative problem-based learning experiences for introductory STEM courses, whereby students learn about a subject by working in groups to solve an open-ended problem. UiA and Clemson students will act as a unified, international team of math-infused problem-developers, applying geographical and cultural contexts acquired through the exchanges to create scaffolded and impactful real-world problems to improve STEM learning across several disciplines, aided by context-specific math support and skill development.
