Broadly, our <strong>approach<\/strong> is to synthesize and explore architected metamaterials and metastructures that leverage wave mechanics, mechanical (i.e., embodied) intelligence, and topological physics to unlock novel wave phenomena (e.g., guide, focus, and block waves and vibrations).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through our research, we seek to achieve a <strong>broad societal impact<\/strong> by translating fundamental scientific advances into practical technologies that address challenges across critical industries (e.g., aerospace, automotive, energy, manufacturing, and robotics). By designing mechanical structures and devices that control vibrations and waves with exceptional adaptivity, efficiency, intelligence, precision, and resilience, we aim to advance innovation in applications such as vibration mitigation, energy harvesting, sensing and imaging, structural health monitoring, and signal processing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We currently have<strong> openings<\/strong>\u00a0for<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Ph.D., M.S., and<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>B.S. research positions\u00a0in the group.
