The aim is to link meso and continuum scales and further the movement towards physics-based modeling.  Connecting high resolution digital image correlation experiments, consisting of microstructural information and grain-level strain fields, to continuum level deformation measurements, failure mechanisms at the component level can be connected to dislocation level phenomena.
