AuE 817 Alternative Power Sources (Spring only):  Main topics are listed below, with more focus on BEV (in Simulink\/Simscape) from 2022<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Driving cycles;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vehicle energy modeling and analysis;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Transmission efficiency;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Electric machine energy performance;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Energy storage and supercapacitor;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dynamic programming, optimal control, &amp; nonlinear optimization; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>HEV energy management and control<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>II. AuE8150\/8151 Electric and Hybrid Powertrain\/Lab (Fall only): This is mainly a lab-based course with key topics extended from previous AuE893 Hybrid Powertrain Control Lab<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>DSO;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Op-amp (circuit analysis &amp; lab);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>dSPACE;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Battery testing (OCV\/SOC, Arbin BT2000 and\/or EIS);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Basic power electronics (buck\/boost converter; inverter);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Motor-generator set modeling &amp; control (simulation &amp; real time emulation using Sciamble&#8217;s DC\/AC motors); and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>EV energy management (Simulink).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>III.
