Dr. Cindy Smith is a part time lecturer of Bioengineering at Clemson University. She earned her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Arizona in 2005 and started as a lecturer at Clemson in August of 2014. Her area of expertise is in utilizing three-dimensional (3D) printing modalities to create viable tissue engineered constructs. Prior to Clemson, Dr. Smith worked for various software design companies, including IBM. She also spent several years working for a biotechnology company managing their 3D printing lab and writing proposals to various funding agencies. Her current focus is on developing and teaching courses in the Bioengineering department. Cindy is married to Dr. Cole Smith in the Industrial Engineering department, and together they have three daughters: Katie, Dani, and Claire.
