Textbooks for Environmental Chemistry Texts for Environmental Chemistry (Senior and Graduate Levels) Basic Concepts of Environmental Chemistry Connell, D.W. 1997. . Lewis Publishers, NY ISBN 0 87371 998 0 Average Rating *** Reviews The beginning of the text is a good review of general chemistry as applied to environmental chemistry. The book contains very good summaries of the topics listed in the table of contents but it is a bit too simplistic for a true course in environmental chemistry. Perhaps it would be best used in a biology course in environmental sciences. It’s greatest weakness is a complete lack of quantitative examples and problems. End-of-chapter problems are limited and qualitative. The book does not contain any worked problems or examples in the chapter. *** -Frank M. Dunnivant, Whitman College, Walla Walla, WA. |
