The multidisciplinary research team who is working on development of analytical tools to enable a biorefinery to identify an optimal integrated process design that ensures a reliable, cost-effective, sustainable, robust and continuous feeding of biomass feedstocks in order to achieve the design throughput of the reactor.

• • June 2019: Research team, attended 2019 Engineering Mechanics Institute and Geo-Institute Specialty Conference, Pasadena, CA and made multiple presentations about discrete element modeling (DEM) work.
  • May 2019: Research team, attended IISE Annual Meeting 2019, Orlando, FL and presented optimization model efforts.
  • March 2019: Research team, attended DOE Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO) 2019 Project Peer Review.
  • March 2019: INL and Clemson members of EERE submit their first Biomass Manuscript to Powder Technology. 
  • 2018: Research team presented their work “Numerical characterization of biomass flowability in biorefinery” at the Idaho National Laboratory Annual Intern Expo, Idaho Falls, ID.
