1. When this text was published it was recommended for use as a senior level course for students not majoring in chemistry. Today, this book could possibly be used as a text for a non-majors course, but the students will need to have a strong high school background in chemistry. Its treatment of most topics is a bit weak by today's standards for a student majoring in chemistry. It is a good overview of the basics in environmental chemistry.

Does not contain in-chapter problems. Does contain end-of-chapter problems.
