The process begins with a pre-assessment. The client fills out a questionnaire with basic company information and provides energy bills for the previous year. An assessment visit is then scheduled. An IAC staff member brings a team of undergraduate and graduate students from Clemson. The team spends a day in the facility evaluating lights, compressors, motors, and other energy-intensive processes. An initial report of findings is made at an end-of-day meeting. Afterward, the team uses the collected data to calculate potential energy savings and payback periods. A report is written within 60 days and submitted to the Department of Energy for approval. Once approved, the report is delivered to the client.
Below is a Gantt chart showing typical timing of our assessment process.
