Nomination Guidelines
NEW! Nominee Eligibility:
Individuals who have received awards in this competition in the last five years OR are currently on the Staff Awards Committee are not eligible to receive an award this year.
This competition does not include the Hattie B. Wagener Award.
Nominees must be in full time FTE or TLP positions for at least 1 year.

On the nomination form:
Describe why this nominee deserves the award with specific examples, not just a generic "they do a great job."
Describe how nominee has gone above & beyond their assigned job duties.
No multiple nominations on a single form, please.
Incomplete nomination forms will not be accepted.
Nominations will be compiled by the Staff Awards Committee Chair and shared with Staff Awards Committee without names, department or other identifiers of the nominee.
Nominators will receive an e-mail confirmation of their submission and, optionally, the full text of their nomination.
NEW! Selection Process:
The CECAS Staff Awards Committee Chair will compile all nominations after nomination period has closed.
Chair will go through nominations and take out identifiers such as candidate name, nominator name, department, etc.
Chair will then distribute “no named” nominations, a selection rubric and varying staff position descriptions to CECAS Staff Awards Committee members for their initial review.
Chair does not have voting rights.
Each committee member will submit their top 10 administrative candidates and top 5 technical candidates through email to the Chair prior to first committee meeting.
Chair will compile committee submissions for the first committee meeting where a detailed review of the top 10 administrative and top 5 technical staff nominees. Meeting outcome is to have 6 administrative and 3 technical nominees remaining.
Chair will run remaining nominees by their direct supervisors to check that staff member is in good standing. Direct supervisors will also be asked for 3 names of people who nominee has worked closely with over the last year. Chair will send these 3 folks an MD360 review, by email, to fill out anonymously in regards to the nominee.
Chair will, again, take out all identifiers prior to sharing results back to the committee.
Committee will come back for a second meeting where MD360s are reviewed and voting will take place for final determination of 2 administrative and 1 technical awardees.
