• Som and my review paper “Additive Manufacturing of High-strength Aluminum Alloys” won Editor’s Choice Article.
• Professor Liu presented at the TMS-2024 conference with the talk “Multiscale Characterization of the Heterogeneous Composition-Microstructure-Property Relationships in Additive Manufacturing Multicomponent Materials.”
• PhD student Som Dixit achieved CECAS GSAB Supplementary Travel Award for his presentation entitled”Investigating build orientation-induced mechanical anisotropy in additive manufacturing 316L stainless steel” at the TMS-2024 conference.
• PhD student Som Dixit secured 2nd position in MRS & Optica 17th annual poster competition at Clemson University.
• Professor Liu received 2024 SME Susan Smyth Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineering Award.
• Professor Liu was an invited speaker in the College of Engineering at Oregon State University on November 27, 2023. Her seminar title was “A Multiphysics and Multiscale Simulation Framework of the Process-Structure-Property Relationship for Additive Manufacturing Alloys”.
• Professor Liu received the NSF CAREER Award for the project: “CAREER: Understanding Dynamic Recrystallization Mechanisms in Hybrid In-situ Rolled Additive Manufacturing.” (2023)
• Professor Liu received the 2022 Best Reviewers Award for the Journal of Manufacturing Science And Engineering.
• Professor Liu was an invited speaker in the Mechanical, Industrial, and Manufacturing Department at the University of Toledo on October 28, 2022.
• Professor Liu was an invited speaker at the Additive Manufacturing Benchmarks Conference on August 16, 2022. The title of her talk was “Prediction of Large Domain Microstructure Morphology By A Novel 3D Cellular Automata-Phase Field (3D CA-PF) Modeling Approach”.
