A team of Clemson and Michelin researchers are collaborating on a research effort to determine the best way to schedule the daily delivery of tires from each of Michelin’s distribution centers to their retailers. The goal is to simultaneously reduce cost for Michelin and improve service for their customers.
SPAWAR-Charleston
SPAWAR and Clemson are teaming on a project related to Six Sigma. In particular, the team is developing a methodology to quantitatively measure the effectiveness of implementing Six Sigma and a computer-based tool to assist project managers at SPAWAR who are not experts Six Sigma to select the tools that are most likely to have a positive impact on their project.
Lockheed Martin
Clemson is working closely with the supply chain and information technology groups at Lockheed Martin Logistics Services in managing the replenishment of spare parts, where even slight changes to stocking policies can lead to significant reductions in program costs.
