Intelligent Turn Signals
- Basic Description
-
Turn signals are the blinking lights used to indicate a driver's intent to turn or change lanes. Until recently, turn signals were operated by electromechanical switches and relays. However, most vehicles now employ microprocessor controlled turn signals that adjust their operation based on the driving situation. For example, the turn signal may behave differently depending on whether the vehicle is changing lanes, making a sharp turn or preparing to park.
