Spark Curiosity

Our Program

The EXPLORE Mobile Lab is our mobile STEM outreach program for middle schools (grades 6-8) designed to be a traveling interactive resource to complement classroom instruction with engineering concepts and applications.

Our state-of-the-art lab will traverse the state, bringing hands-on experiences to incite curiosity and connections in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Learn By Doing

Our Lead Engineer will engage students in relevant hands-on learning activities that will spark their curiosity, encourage them to make connections to other contexts, and help them envision the applications of what they are learning in school. The EXPLORE Mobile Lab program is also intended to help teachers continue to build their understanding of engineering applications of science and math content.

Team

Partnership

EXPLORE is a collaboration between Clemson University’s College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences and Duke Energy to bring engineering activities to public middle schools (grades 6-8) in the Duke Energy Carolinas and Duke Energy Progress service area in South Carolina.

Teach

For Educators

Throughout the school year, teachers from the list of public middle schools in the service area can request to have the EXPLORE Mobile Lab visit their school by completing the Request Form and indicating the activities they would like to include. The activities are available to all teachers and other educators as a resource and all are encouraged to use and adapt the activities as appropriate for their needs.
