Researchers taking a deep dive into PFAS in textiles Firefighting gear and other textile products often contain PFAS, but little is known about which types of PFAS are present or how pervasive the issue is. A team from Emory University and the Chemical Insights Research Institute are studying the issue to potentially identify PFAS in common textiles and opportunities for manufacturers to replace them with alternatives that will protect human health and fulfill emerging regulatory standards.
