Part of the work SC E3 does includes participating in site visits to perform energy conservation assessments. SC E3 has been involved with several assessments at wastewater treatment facilities and has developed recommendations that could be implemented at other sites as ways to reduce energy use and save money. Below is a sample recommendation for the automation of aeration equipment using the dissolved oxygen levels. The plant this recommendation was written for was using mechanical mixers for aeration, but this could be extended to other aeration technologies as well.
