Megan Pitz and Timmy Samec presented virtual posters at the annual American Association for Cancer Research conference.

 

May 2020

Maggie Elpers, Jessie Boulos, and Emily Grant each graduated with a B.S. in Bioengineering. Maggie will begin her Ph.D. at Cornell University in the fall, Emily will begin medical school at MUSC, and Jessie will be returning to the lab to pursue her M.S. We wish you all good luck in your endeavors!

Lora Alatise, Megan Pitz, and Timmy Samec had abstracts accepted for poster presentations at the annual AACR conference in San Diego, CA, April 24-29.

 

December 2019

Timmy Samec successfully passed his proposal defense. He is now the lab's first official Ph.D. candidate! Congratulations Timmy!

 

Kayla Shine graduated with a B.S. in Microbiology. She will be continuing her studies at the Medical University of South Carolina in the fall!

 

November 2019

Dr. AB and Kayla Shine attended the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students! Kayla presented a poster and Dr. AB served as the Vice Chair of the Engineering, Math, and Physics Disciplines.

 

The lab participated in Hollings Cancer Center's LowVelo ride to support cancer research. Timmy Samec rode the 100 mile race in Charleston, SC to represent the lab!

October 2019

The lab was well represented at the BMES annual meeting in Philadelphia, PA. Timmy Samec, Maggie Elpers, Alex Nukovic, Kayla Shine, Emily Grant, Jessie Boulos presented posters during the conference.

Timmy Samec, Megan Pitz, Jessie Boulos, and Kayla Shine attended the Made in SC conference in Columbia, SC. Kayla and Megan presented posters showcasing the lab's work.

 

August 2019

Two new graduate students have joined the lab! Lora Alatise is pursuing her M.S. and Megan Pitz is beginning her Ph.D., both in Bioengineering. We look forward to seeing what they will bring to the lab!

 

July 2018

Arica Gregory, Emily Miller, and Timmy Samec had abstracts accepted for poster presentations at the annual BMES conference in Atlanta, GA, October 17-20.

 

Arica Gregory successfully defended her Master's thesis defense.  She will begin medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina in Fall 2018.  We wish you well Arica!
