Affiliated with the program are eleven Electrical and Computer Engineering faculty who are involved in complementary research activities. The program is directed by Professor L. Wilson Pearson. Senior leadership includes Professors Michael Pursley and Chalmers Butler. All three are fellows of the IEEE and all received IEEE Third Millennium medals. Dr. Pursley is also a recipient of the IEEE Communications Society Edwin Howard Armstrong Achievement Award. Dr. Butler is currently international Vice President of the International Union for Radio Science (URSI). Pearson is a former President of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society.
