This 2-hour webinar is two talks in one! We will introduce strategies and methods to identify and realize energy savings and pollution reductions at your facility.
- Talk 1: Brewing Up Efficiency – Tips from the Food and Beverage Industry on Reducing waste, improving Energy Efficiency, and Saving Money.
- Talk 2: Improving Sustainability through Boiler Improvements – a discussion of efficiency improvements for boilers and steam systems.
- 15 minutes will be devoted to Q&A related to any of the topics covered in the webinar
Speakers:
Kevin Covington
Kevin Covington has a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from the University of Alabama. He has 5 years of experience in the environmental regulatory and consulting field. He designs sampling schemes and manages the field services team at UA SafeState as they provide environmental services across the southeast US. Additionally, he conducts third-party environmental compliance reviews for companies across Alabama to ensure they meet their environmental goals and obligations.
Joe Carpenter
Dr. Joseph Carpenter is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The University of Alabama and Director of The Alabama Industrial Training and Assessment Center (AITAC). Dr. Carpenter received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Mississippi State University and PhD from the University of Alabama. Dr. Carpenter has ten continuous years of experience in IAC operations and administration, beginning in 2014 as a student member. In 2019 he joined the UA Mechanical Engineering Department and AITAC as faculty and was named Director of the AITAC in 2021. He has been on over 80 assessments. Dr. Carpenter is certified as a DOE Qualified Specialist in Pumping, Fan and Compressed Air systems.
