300 kV X-ray system now operational
To support radioluminescence and radiocatalysis research, the Cates Lab recently completed installation of an X-ray Irradiation system. It features an 1800 W, 300 kV ICM Site-X tube housed in an industrial shielding cabinet. The unit allows us to perform experiments using highly-penetrating X-rays at high dose rates.
Cates Lab awarded EAGER Grant
The Cates Lab has received funding the National Science Foundation for exploratory research on radioluminescent membrane biofouling control. The grant will fund one year of work involving preliminary trials and proof-of-concept experiments.
