Ezra Cates is originally from North Carolina and received a B.S. in Environmental Studies from the University of North Carolina – Asheville in 2007. He received a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering at Georgia Tech in 2013 and additionally completed a year of postdoctoral research at Yale University. He joined the faculty of Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences at Clemson in 2014 as an assistant professor.
