Congratulations to undergraduate researcher Jaden Stutts who received 3rd place at the Materials Science & Engineering Division (MSED) undergraduate poster session at the 2021 Fall AIChE Meeting in Boston, MA! Jaden presented her research on lignin-containing soft composites. Congrats again Jaden!!
The GAANN Program titled, “GAANN: Molecular Engineering for Sustainably and Health (MESH)”, was selected for funding by the Department of Education. This program provides funding for at least 5 PhD students for a duration of 3 years. Prof. Davis will serve as the Director and Drs. Getman and Birtwistle will serve as co-Directors of the program. We are looking forward to the continued success of the GAANN program in our department here at Clemson University!
Congratulations to PhD student Keturah Bethel who was 1 of 12 researchers selected to present their work at this year’s “Soft Matter for All” Virtual Conference hosted by University of Delaware, Princeton University, and the University of Chicago. Great job Keturah!
Prof. Davis was recently award a grant from the SC EPSCoR Scientific Advocate Network (SAN) Program for his proposal titled, “Closing the Gap of Underrepresented Minorities and Women in Polymer-Related Research”. Funding from this award will go to support undergraduate research on stimuli-responsive soft composites.
With Prof. Mark Blenner leaving for the University of Delaware in Spring 2021, Prof. Davis has taken over as Director of the CBE Clemson GAANN Program on molecular engineering in sustainability and health.
