While reporting problems, please include the following:

  • The name of the machine you are working on
  • The problem you are having
  • The exact text of the error message you are getting
  • If possible, include the sequence of commands you executed
so we can try to duplicate the problem and figure out what is going wrong. This will ensure that your issue is resolved in a timely fashion.

CUVPN Installation

  1. Make sure the computer is connected to the internet.
  2. Go Here to install Oracle Java 7 in Ubuntu or Linux Mint via PPA
  3. Go Here to login to CUVPN.
  4. After logging in, click continue.
  5. The website will attempt to install the CUVPN Client.
  6. If for some reason, the web-based installation is unsuccessful, click the link below
  7. Select the proper file. If you're using 64 bit linux the option will be Linux x86_64 for your distribution.
  8. A file named vpnsetup.sh will be downloaded.
  1. Open a terminal
  2. Navigate to the folder where the file was downloaded using command: cd /*location file was downloaded*
  3. Run the file using the command: sudo ./vpnsetup.sh
  4. After running the script, the vpn client should be installed in the folder: /opt/cisco/anyconnect/bin
  5. Run the vpn client with the command: /opt/cisco/anyconnect/bin/vpnui.sh
  6. In the "Connect to" box type cuvpn.clemson.edu
  7. Enter your clemson userID and password. The VPN client should successfully connect.
