While reporting problems, please include the following:

  • The name of the machine you are working on
  • The problem you are having
  • The exact text of the error message you are getting
  • If possible, include the sequence of commands you executed
so we can try to duplicate the problem and figure out what is going wrong. This will ensure that your issue is resolved in a timely fashion.

SSH Client file Transfer Guide

  1. Click Start, go to SSH Secure Shell and select Secure File Transfer Client.
  2. Click Quick Connect in the top left corner.
  3. For the Host Name, enter the machine you would like to connect to. For example: apollo01.ces.clemson.edu. A list of available machines can be found Here.
  1. In the UserName box enter your clemson username. For example: JohnD
  2. Click Connect
  3. In the new window that comes up, the left side of the window will show your windows files and the right side will show your Unix files. Drag and drop files from one side to the other to transfer them between the two systems.
  4. Once you're finished, click File and then select Disconnect.
