June 2009. 3 undergraduate students, Calvin Pope, Nick Deroller, and Devendra Diwan join Dr. Koley’s group In the summer 2009 through NSF funded REU program. They will be working with the graduate students on various research topics including synthesis of nanostructures, finite element simulation of MEMS/NEMS, CVD furnace design and assembly, sensor test bed assembly, and data acquisition programming using Labview.

qazi_poster08Muhammad Qazi won the Second prize in the poster competition of the Graduate Student Day 2008 in the category of Molecular, biomedical and materials research. The title of the poster was "Two dimensional signatures for molecular identifications".

August, 2008. Md. Waliullah Khan Nomani and Ehtesham Bin Quddus joined NESL to pursue their doctoral studies. Mr. Nomani and Mr. Quddus are both graduates in EEE from Bangladesh Univ of Engineering and Technology (BUET). Mr. Nomani also has a Masters in EEE from BUET, and tranferred from University of Waterloo. Mr. Nomani has also been awarded the prestigious USC Graduate School Fellowship Award for 2008 - 2010 academic years.
