Project:
Preclinical Evaluation of Combination Therapy of Rolipram and Minocycline for Arresting Secondary Injury Cascade After Traumatic Brain Injury

Krista Henrie graduated top 5% of Reservoir High School in May 2021. In her final year of high school, she participated in the Army Educational Outreach Program – Science and Engineering Apprenticeship Program at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Silver Spring, MD where she tested drug delivery methods and therapeutics for traumatic brain injury in preparation for clinical trials. Ms. Henrie began Clemson University in August 2021 when she joined the 4D lab and Healthcare Genetics Lab on campus as an undergraduate researcher. She actively participates in multiple clubs such as Clemson Neuroscience Club, Society of Women Engineers, Women in Science and Engineering (WISE), and Residents in Science and Engineering (RISE). Ms. Henrie plans to go into a Ph.D. program after completing her BS at Clemson. Her future research goals and inspiration include pediatric brain tumors, specifically diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG).
